Does Pacific Summit Construction Group have a dress code?

Currently we have a casual dress code. It is a requirement for our personnel to wear our uniform for their shirt but they can wear jeans, slacks, or any neat pants for men or skirts for women. Wearing of collared shirts and business attire for men or dresses for women in replacement of uniform is allowed. Although sneakers and rubber shoes are recommended during in the construction site, wearing of slippers, sandals, and short pants is prohibited.

How should I prepare for the interview?

The first step is to do your research about the company and the position you are applying for. Not only do you need to be familiar about the position you’ll be interviewing for, you also need to know about who we are as a company and what differentiates us from the rest of the industry.

If it is available, try to get a copy of our annual report. If this is not possible, all the required information is available through our websites. You have to be familiar with our characteristics and what we stand for. Our philosophy, mission, vision, and commitment are the most important aspects of our corporation; therefore you should know it by heart. Knowing our financial facts and figures are not necessary, therefore we do not recommend you to spend your time in knowing these things, rather do research on the position you would be applying for.

In summary, the three most essential things you need to know is yourself, our company, and the position you are applying for.

What should I expect in a typical interview?

We will expect you to rationalize and support why you are right for our company and why our company is right for you. We will also be expecting that you could answer most of the questions about the position you are applying for. You are not expected to do unnecessary activities or demonstrations during your interview. We are also not interested in details, affairs, or skills that are not relevant to your position or the required talents and skills.

How and when do I follow-up after the interview?

You do not. Our human resource department would be the one who would contact you.

What do you need to know about Pacific Summit Construction Group?

  • Although we do not have projects outside the Philippines as of the moment, we operate throughout the country and it is not unusual for a technical staff to be assigned outside of Metro Manila or their home base. For our management staff, once in awhile they have to visit different locations but not necessarily live or be assigned there for a certain period.

  • Construction is critical in the development of any nation or community. It is a seminal industry and our company knows no barrier or borders in construction. Therefore be prepared for immediate calls or sudden changes anytime of the day. Working before or after the usual working-hours and sometimes during holidays are rather a rule than an exception. Most of the time, overtime is non-negotiable however it is still your prerogative to work during holidays. You must be flexible in your working hours.

  • Construction is both an art and science. Management and technical staff work hand-in-hand and with perfect synchronization. Cooperation is a must. It would be common to hear technical terms as well as management terms, so you should ask if things are unclear.
